After last week’s table flipping, I was really hoping this week’s episode would kind of balance things out. Sadly, all my hopes were dashed to pieces as I was forced to endure this week’s episode of ridiculousness. On the upside, with so much ridiculous going on, there’s no shortage of things to talk about so let’s get to it!
Picking up where we left off last week, Bo Yan has stepped into the role of GM of Crystal and while Vanessa has decided to place all her trust in this man, the rest of the board is beginning to question Bo Yan’s ability to run this company. And for good reason. Bo Yan’s desire to turn Crystal into a mini Peak may look good on paper but Zhan Cheng is quick to point out there’s a whole lot more that goes into making a business work than going after short-term gains. While Bo Yan continues to argue his point to the board, Zhan Cheng calmly shoots down every single one of Bo Yan’s arguments, in the most supportive and positive way possible. I’m truly amazed by Zhan Cheng’s ability to stay so calm as Bo Yan digs his own grave. I’d personally be a bit more like William, smiling like a fool while Bo Yan gets what he deserves, but I’m not a drama hero so it makes sense for me to be happy at Bo Yan’s expense.
As happy as I was to watch Bo Yan squirm, I was thoroughly disappointed in the way he handled his defeat. Attempting to run a person over, just because he pointed out your flaws, isn’t cool. At least Vanessa saw Bo Yan at this most slimy of moment. She certainly needed to! For far too long now, Vanessa’s feelings for Bo Yan have been growing and it literally makes my insides cringe, thinking about what may happen if Vanessa truly does fall for Bo Yan. Ugh! The very thought is revolting! Bo Yan is not a man worth anyone’s time and the fact Vanessa is devoting so much time and money into Bo Yan just sickens me. Bo Yan is scum. He’s proven that a thousand times over, even to Vanessa, and yet here she sits, making doe eyes at him as he confesses his grudge against Zhan Cheng all comes down to the fact Yu Xi is with Zhan Cheng. To this is say BOO! I’ve been waiting countless weeks for Bo Yan to confess his reasons for hating Zhan Cheng and now that I get it, it’s just a grudge over Yu Xi!?! What kind of crap is this??? Bo Yan says he still loves Yu Xi!?! PLEASE! He didn’t love Yu Xi to begin with! If he really had loved Yu Xi, Bo Yan wouldn’t have treated her so poorly when she was with him. He never once demonstrated his love for Yu Xi, he simply demonstrated his willingness to use her for his personal gain. That’s not love and that’s the most pathetic excuse for a grudge I’ve ever heard. The fact that Vanessa feels any sort of emotion towards this creep just makes me want to cry. I have no real love for Vanessa but that doesn’t mean I want to see her end up with the likes of Bo Yan. She and her baby deserve better and Bo Yan just needs to go jump off a cliff.
Unfortunately the frustration I feel this week doesn’t really stem from Bo Yan. Nope, it’s Yu Xi and her stubborn refusal to GET A CLUE that has me flipping all the tables. Oh my gracious! I can’t believe this girl has to have the entire world spell things out for her and STILL she refuses to give into her feelings for Zhan Cheng. At this point I’m beginning to doubt whether she really has feelings for the man. I mean really! How could she willingly force the man she claims to love through so much pain over nothing? Because let’s face it, all of this breaking up on Ya Ti’s behalf is really just a whole lot of nothing. Ya Ti never asked Yu Xi to break up with Zhan Cheng. Zhan Cheng never told Yu Xi he wanted to leave her now that he’s found Luo Han’s heart. Even the creepy heart itself seems to have said its peace and decided to back off, so why the heck is Yu Xi still so adamant about leaving Zhan Cheng? It doesn’t make sense!
I find it ridiculously sad that it takes an entire episode and the efforts of every flipping character in this drama to get Yu Xi and Zhan Cheng back together. I find it even more sad that it takes Ya Ti and Zhan Cheng spelling everything out for Yu Xi, word by word, before she FINALLY gets that what she’s doing is wrong. Can someone please explain to me why this girl is so darn stubborn? What’s the point of her staying away when the entire world has told her it’s okay for her to be with Zhan Cheng? What could possibly be holding her back? She has everyone’s permission to be happy but her own and this just drives me absolutely batty. I was so frustrated with Yu Xi by the end of this episode that I spent that entire last scene making snarky comments as she wailed over Zhan Cheng’s departure. I’m sorry but I have no sympathy for people who are too stupid to fix their own mistakes and I have a lot of pent-up resentment against Yu Xi at the moment. How she could possibly think it was okay for her to treat Zhan Cheng the way she has these past couple of episodes is beyond me. I was two seconds away from writing Yu Xi off completely but the smoldering looks of Zhan Cheng and the fact he was there, at the end, listening to her confession/apology, made everything better. I’m not sure I’m completely ready to forgive Yu Xi at the moment but I’m more than ready to watch Zhan Cheng be happy.
Speaking of happy, I’d really like to see Yu An find his own version of happiness. As much as it pains me to say this, I’m not convinced Yu An is actually happy in his new role. I know he feels like renouncing his vows and taking his place in the home is what he ought to do but I’m not sure it’s really what he wants to do. He doesn’t really seem comfortable in this new role and I find that very sad. It seems to me Yu An is simply giving in to the wishes of his mom, rather than doing what he really wants. As much as I’d like to admire him for his willingness to sacrifice himself for his family, I can’t because it really doesn’t seem necessary. Why does he have to give up on what he wanted to cater to the wishes of his family? It doesn’t really seem fair. It’s also not fair that Mama Chen feels it’s necessary to pile even more pressure on her already confused son, by telling him she’d really like to have Fei Fei as a daughter-in-law. I mean really, Mama Chen? Was that absolutely necessary? I know you like the girl and all but your poor son has just left the church and his calling. Do you really think this is the right time to be bringing up marriage? It’s not like Yu An has really been in any sort of position to be thinking about marriage up to this point. He was a priest for goodness sake! Give the boy some time to adjust to life before you go and pawn him off on the likes of Fei Fei! Personally, I’d really like for Fei Fei to go off to school, get her degree, find herself a job, get her head on straight, and grow up a bit before she tried to pursue anything with Yu An but it seems that’s not going to happen. Dang it!
With only two episodes left, things are definitely drawing to a close and, for the most part, things seem to be headed in a happy direction. If Yu Xi can stop trying to leave Zhan Cheng, Yu An can have the freedom to live his own life, and Bo Yan can find a way to fall off the face of the planet, things should be good. Of course two episodes is still plenty of time to mess things up so I’m not calling this one until the final credits of the final episode roll. Until then, anything’s possible. I’m just crossing all my fingers and toes for an ending that doesn’t make me want to light my head on fire.
So tell me, what did you think of this week’s episode? Am I the only one frustrated by the timing of this drama? I feel like everything is being ridiculously drawn out and it’s so darn painful! (Just end it already!) You know I always love hearing from you so be sure to let me know what you’re thinking in the comments below!

I actually thought Zhan Cheng and Yu Xi made up quite fast (2 episodes). Perhaps it is because I have watched a lot of dramas where misunderstanding and seperations drag on for several episodes. With that said I too couldn’t help but gave Yu Xi some remarks like “you brought this upon yourself”, “it was you who left him behind” etc. when she was chasing after him and apologized when she thought he had left.
I had expected the drama to have 21 episodes so I don’t know if 2 episodes will be enough to cover everything. I would easily skip Bo Yan-Vanessa scenes for more Zhan Cheng-Yu Xi. Please let us have more sweet scenes between them before this ends.
Anyone noticed that Yu Xi finally called him Zhan Cheng instead of Boss at the end of the episode?
As for Yu An, I actually think he did want Fei Fei to stay before Chen Ma Ma said what she wished for, it is just that both him and Yu Xi needs someone to push them or tell them what to do before they really take action while Fei Fei and her brother Zhan Cheng is the opposite, they are really straight-forward and know exactly what they want.
Bo Yan, I have never understood this character. He doesn’t seem to love anyone beside himself.
Agree with you Susa, it was a pleasant surprise to have the issue resolved so soon, although it still it required a whole lot of cookies baking and third party sticky-beaking to get there. Honestly what would Yuxi have ZC do if other LH organ recipients come after her ZC?? Start a Harem?? I mean even the creepy heart had decided to step aside FFS… Credit to ZC that as much as he loves Yuxi he doesn’t hesitate to point out how naive and silly her plan was or how she had made her thoughts very clear but completely failed to consider his thoughts & feelings.
That last scene was almost unbearable to watch had it not been for boss-man’s AWESOME back hug & sultry voice asking “why would I leave you behind?” *squeeeeeeeaaaalll*
Yuxi, I would thank my lucky stars the man loves you too much for your dumb plan to actually work!
I also noticed how she had actually called him by his name at the end which I hope he gets to hear again, maybe it signifies the turning point in their relationship where she sees them as equals who deserve to be together. God knows the man deserves his slice of happiness. 🙂
Bo Yan, the only thing I look forward to once this show wraps up will be that I never have to utter that jerk’s name again! Had the show ever depicted a more human side to him (yes. Bo Yan. human. what a joke) eg tender dating moments btw him and Yuxi or some sort of self-conflict before committing some of the evil acts he has then maybe we can feel for his character’s decent into insanity. But since the show didn’t they can’t feed us that crap abt his love for and subsequent loss of Yuxi being the motivation for all his crazies!
