ZOMBIE’S T-DRAMA REVIEW: Fall In Love With Me Episode 16

piggy back in the woods

Here I thought I’d actually be able to get through an entire episode of Fall in Love With Me without flipping a single table and then, in the last sixty seconds, I go and burn and entire table factory to the ground. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THIS SHOW!?!

he's mine

The last fifteen episodes of Fall in Love With Me have been nothing more than a continuous buildup frustration so it makes sense that we’d eventually come to an episode that would give us a break from all of the crazy, as a sort of chance to catch our breath before we dive into the equally frustrating resolution and it seemed that this week’s episode was it (at least until we came to the final minute or so). This week’s episode started out a bit rough, picking up where things left off last week, with Huan Huan revealing her true colors and proving to the world she belongs in the family of evil, also known as the Li family. Huan Huan held nothing back as she set Le Si in her place and even went to far as to kiss Tian Xing on the cheek, just to prove that he belonged to her and not Le Si.

crying tian xing

As bad as I felt for Le Si as Huan Huan staked her claim, I felt even worse for Tian Xing who could do nothing but put up with Huan Huan’s evil shenanigans and give in to his Auntie’s desperate pleas for complete submission. (And no, I’m still not over her whole begging on her knees thing as a way of manipulating Tian Xing. It was low and despicable and I hate her for putting Tian Xing in such a painful situation.) That whole scene with Le Si and Tian Xing sitting in the car, after leaving the Li Family home was one of the most heartbreaking yet and not because Le Si feels bad but because Tian Xing reveals to us all that he is absolutely decimated by the hopelessness of his situation. You know, in dramas it’s usually the female lead who has her life destroyed and her spirit crushed before the end but in this case, it’s our hero who’s suffering and that just breaks my heart. Watching Tian Xing cry is one of the most devastating things I’ve ever seen and I really hoped Le Si would step up and make her heartbroken beau feel better.  Lucky for me, I actually got my wish.

company camping

I have to say, I wasn’t really expecting Le Si and Tian Xing to have any time to themselves as the date of Tian Xing and Huan Huan’s wedding draws nigh but thank the drama gods there’s always a best friend around who’s more than willing to step in, from time to time, and so something useful for her suffering friend! Hooray Miao Miao! You’re not a completely pointless character after all! Planning a spontaneous camping trip for the downhearted OZ staff was probably the best idea Miao Miao ever had in her life. Not only did it give Le Si and Tian Xing a chance to spend some quality time together but it brought our other two couples together for a little bonding time as well. I thought Miao Miao and Ting Wei were pretty darn adorable with their whole “What kind of dog would I be” flirting and Gai Xian and Helen… Well, Gai Xian is still just a creeper but I guess he does have moments when he isn’t that bad so I suppose I can be happy for the progress made between him and Helen. I think.

ummm

What I can be happy about is the fact that Le Si and Tian Xing at least had the courage to run away from everything and everyone, even if it was only for a day and only after being forced into it by their friends. While I still think running away together is a very viable option, I also know it’s not a reasonable one. (As if anything in Drama Land is reasonable to begin with… Just saying!) In exchange for running away for good, I’ll settle for running away for a day as long as that day is well spent and well spent, this one was! Wowzers! Talk about an unexpected turn of events! Not gonna lie, watching a half-naked Tian Xing make out with Le Si as she’s sitting in his lap was not the way I expected this little camping adventure to go but I’m certainly not going to complain! More than enjoying the make-out session, I was happy to see Tian Xing and Le Si committing to love each other no matter what insanity lies ahead. The only way these two are going to get through all of this crazy is by sticking together and I think they’ve pretty much solidified that commitment, which is a good thing because I think Huan Huan is on the brink of going absolutely bonkers!

going crazy

Oh my goodness! Does anyone else get the feeling Huan Huan is teetering on the edge of insanity or is that just me? Seriously! This chick is really starting to freak me out, what with her talking to herself in the mirror and her steadily growing collection of pills and all. Add to that her rapidly hardening heart and her overnight transformation into the female version of her brother and I think we’ve got some serious stuff to worry about here! I can very easily see Huan Huan completely losing her weak grasp on reality and going absolutely bananas which could easily spell doom for Tian Xing, Le Si and the rest of her family (though I wouldn’t mind if Lance and his mom suffered a bit). Of course none of this will matter if Huan Huan ends up getting squashed by this oncoming truck… (Let the table flipping commence!) How the heck could Huan Huan not realize she was moving, the very second that delivery dude bumped her chair? Because I don’t care if your eyes are shut and you’re listening to music or not, you’re going to realize you’re moving the second you start rolling and only an idiot would continue to sit there and pretend like nothing was going on. I suppose there is a chance she could think Uncle Fu was back and was just taking her to the car but even then, wouldn’t an intelligent person open her eyes and look, just to be sure? If Huan Huan suffers any more injuries I’m going to throw my computer out the window and go hunt down the writers because I seriously can’t take any more of this nonsense! Huan Huan had better get her sorry butt out of that wheelchair and run for safety because if she doesn’t, I’m outta here! (Okay, not really but I might have to walk away from my computer for a minute or two, just to make sure I don’t actually throw it out the window.)

stupid

So tell me, am I justified in my frustration in Huan Huan’s current predicament or is this scenario totally believable? What about the rest of this week’s drama? Did you enjoy the company camping cuteness as much as I did or was it a little too fluffy for your taste? What do you think of Lance and Uncle Fu’s warning to Tian Xing to watch out for him? Do you think Lance is planning something diabolical? Maybe something that has to do with his sister? (Because I really wouldn’t put something that low past him. He’s pretty much the most horrible person on the face of the planet.) What about Leo and his seeming defection to Tian Ji? Do you think he’s actually interested in working for Lance or is he really after something else (like uncovering Huan Huan’s secret)? As always, I want to know what you’re thinking so be sure to leave me a comment below!

  1. I was originally thinking HuanHuan’s stash of pills was painkillers, but now I’m thinking they’re anti-psychotics and there needs to be an intervention, NOW!! She originally seemed sweet, but terribly spoiled. Now she’s become evil incarnate – gaining pleasure from hurting others. It’s hard to watch. As horrible as this makes me, I was kind of happy to see her rolling into the street, and was hoping for the worst.

Leo has a plan in place that is aimed at helping out his friends, but I’m not sure what it is. Is it to expose HuanHuan’s lies? Quietly undermine Lance? I hope he hurries up and does something!!

    1. So glad I wasn’t the only one hoping Leo would be too late in his attempted rescue of Huan Huan! I was afraid I was becoming almost as horrible as she’s become! Yowzers! How can a person be so cruel? I have to say, I didn’t really see this change in character coming! She’s downright terrifying! I do hope Leo has some sort of plan to undermine Lance and expose Huan Huan but at the same time, I’m a bit disappointed that all of my hopes of uncovering the truth are dependent upon a guy I don’t even like.

      1. I love Leo’s change in hair! The perm fits his personality perfectly! He’s quiet, but wild. If I were a man, I’d like my hair like that. Leo’s character might be dull, but I still like him as an actor due to other dramas. 😀

        1. I have no problem with Leo as an actor, I’m just not a fan of his character. Perhaps as things unfold and we see what he’s up to at Tian Ji, my opinion of him might change. I suppose that wouldn’t be a bad thing, especially if it’s going to come down to him exposing the truth and finding a way for Tian Xing and Le Si to be together.

          1. Most people wouldn’t do what Leo did. There’s no benefit to him whatsoever unless he craved money or power. I think he’s made to be the brother figure. He’s doing all this for Le Si’s happiness. Leo would have stayed true to Oz, but Le Si is more important than Oz so he decides to betray Oz, though with cause.

          2. And for that I have to admire him. He may have been a punk in the past but he’s got his head and his heart in the right place and he’s sacrificing himself to ensure Le Si’s happiness even when he knows she’ll never return his affections. He’s turning out to be a pretty good guy and I really hope he can help Tian Xing find a way to bring down Huan Huan and her Tian Xing obsessed family.

  2. Huan Huan needs mental help. I think since she isn’t taking her meds, her mental state has gone worse or maybe she is also having delusions as well. She’s actually very scary to me right now. As for Tian Xing and Le Si’s little mini-date romance thing, I thought it didn’t make sense. If I knew I had to let my boyfriend go marry someone else, I prefer to have a clean-cut breakup. The way they are acting is making their relationship very complicated and unresolved. Of course, I enjoyed their intimate moments, but I thought it was a wrong thing to do. I’m surprised that Tian Xing didn’t even have a clue that Lance is a creep. I would have had some clues already. After all, Lance tried to sabotage Oz many times. I think Lance wants to officially kick Tian Xing out of the company, especially after he heard from his mother how easily the whole Tian Ji can become Tian Xing’s company. I really don’t think they had a true friendship to begin with. Leo, meanwhile, has plans of his own. He knew something is up with Huan Huan and purposely asked Huan Huan to star in his commercial. I think he wants to expose Huan Huan’s medical condition to help Le Si. Or he could really screw with Lance in a major way. I’m not necessarily flipping a whole factory of tables this week, but I’m just really surprised at the way the plot is going. Weird, weird story.

    1. I really have nothing to say in reply to this because you’re absolutely right on all of it and it really is a “weird, weird story”. There’s so much I don’t understand and can’t explain so the only thing I can do is sit back and see where all of this crazy is going and hope that, somehow, we’ll eventually find ourselves at a happy ending. *fingers crossed*

      1. I think whoever wrote the script is a bit crazy him or herself. Characters are really growing with the plot in random ways. Well, it seems that the only person who hasn’t really changed is Tian Xing, who is as strong as ever. I find it creepy that Tian Xing and Le Si never noticed a photographer snapping photos of them from a distance. And then how fast Huan Huan knew about it. I would have been mad that I have been followed, but nobody seems to care about that!~

        1. Yeah, there’s a lot of weird stuff like that going on. You would think that Tian Xing would bank on the fact that Lance has already proven himself a creeper and be a bit wary of his surroundings but I guess when you’ve got your face stuck to someone else’s you don’t really think about much else. Still, it’s more than a bit creepy to know that your most intimate moments are being caught on camera. Yeesh! I don’t really understand why Tian Xing and/or Le Si don’t say something about this gross invasion of privacy. They have every right to be furious about the whole thing and yet they just stand there. It doesn’t make sense but really, what does make sense at this point?

          1. My friend once tried to photograph my husband-then-boyfriend as he confessed his feelings to me in school. She tried to hide behind a garbage disposal and snap photos, but it was too dark and I saw flashes of light going off and I kept looking at her direction. That’s why I believe it’s so easy to get caught as a photographer at night. There’s no way he’d get super clear photos. Tian Xing and Le Si just simply let Huan Huan go crazy and then slapping crazy and do nothing about it. Well, she may be a victim, but that doesn’t make her and her family right!

          2. Yeah, there’s no way that photographer could have gotten such clear pictures without an incredible amount of light, a great lens and an unobstructed view of the scene, all of which would be impossible to get undercover in the middle of the night. It just doesn’t make sense for him to not be caught but whatever. Huan Huan is about to completely lose her grip on sanity and she really needs to get her act together or she’s going to end up hurting herself and everyone else. I think she’s more a victim of her own selfishness than anything else. If she’d let Tian Xing go in the first place, she wouldn’t be in the pain she’s in now.

          3. Anyone who doesn’t care about their own health and legs has got to be crazy! The worst part is that Huan Huan doesn’t feel inadequate at all. Does she think she can spend the rest of her life very happy in a wheelchair? I think not.
