Okay people, you knew this was coming. It was inevitable. After all, this is VIXX we’re talking about. V.I. double X. VIXX. The question is, how big of a fangirl mess am I going to make of this post? I guess the only way to answer that question is to read on and find out!
So for those of you who may not be quite as into Jellyfish’s only boy group as I am, let me begin by bringing you up to speed. After teasing fans mercilessly for what felt like an eternity but was really only a matter of days, VIXX finally made their comeback with the release of their second full-length album, Chained Up. The album and accompanying title track video were released on November 10 and I’ve been in fangirl heaven ever since.
It’s painful to admit this but I’d almost forgotten how much I loved VIXX in the 9 months it’s been since they released Boys’ Record.
(Jeez! What kind of fan am I!?! *smh*) 
I really didn’t realize how much I’d missed them until the “Chained Up” MV was released and all my social media timelines were once again flooded with these six amazing young men. Oh VIXX! How happy I am to have you back! *sigh*
While the song, “Chained Up,” isn’t exactly what I was expecting it to be it’s still everything a VIXX song should be. The EDM/pop combo that has come to define VIXX’s music is as fantastic as ever and, as always, Ravi’s rap gives the track that special something that sets VIXX’s music apart from the rest. Of course I can’t overlook the amazing contributions of each and every member, in making this track as great as it is. Hongbin’s voice is like dark, velvet chocolate, so rich and sensuous it should be illegal, while Ravi’s deep, gravely voice gives the track a darker undertone. 
On the opposite end of the spectrum, N and Hyuk’s voices are like satin and honey. And then there’s Leo and Ken who, with their otherworldly voices, take this track to a whole new level of incredible. The blend of vocals in the chorus is nothing short of perfection and the harmonies in the bridge… OH HOLY FLIP! I swoon every time! And let’s not forget about the lyrics to this song… Ummm… On second thought, let’s just skip talking about the lyrics, shall we? I kinda need to stay conscious so I can finish this post.
As for the video… Oh where to begin? It’s beautiful and slightly dark and haunting and even though it didn’t quite reach the level of creepy darkness I was hoping for with this comeback, it’s still pretty darn fantastic. I mean how can you be sad when you’ve got dark, sexy Hongbin sitting in a flooded room and beautiful flower boy Ken trapped in a flower-filled glass box??? And Ravi behind those gossamer curtains, being all ghostly and dramatic one minute and then taking center stage with those intense looks and fabulous hair. *swoon* It’s no wonder I love that boy as much as I do. And then there’s Hyuk, who’s lost all traces of child-like innocence, making all the noonas in the world seriously rethink their bias list. (Darn it boy! Just stop, please!) Of course N looks beyond ridiculously gorgeous, as always. 
Once again I find myself recalling what it was like to meet that boy in persona and I die a thousand times over because I once had him smile just for me. (See what going to concerts does to you? It ruins your life forever!) And then there’s Leo… Stupid, perfect, intense, gorgeous Leo… Hiding behind those chains only to step into the spotlight and kill us all with his dumb wiggles of death. GOSH DARN IT LEO! WHY!?! WHY ARE YOU DEAD SET ON KILLING ME!?!
Obviously I’m a bit biased when it comes to anything VIXX related but I have to say, “Chained Up” really is a great song. 
It’s catchy and easy to sing along with and the video is nothing but eye-candy, from start to finish. Personally, I’m in love but that’s not really saying much seeing as how I can’t really remember a time I wasn’t in love with VIXX. Of course what I really want to know is how you feel about VIXX’s latest release. Is it really as amazing as I say it is or am I just a hopeless fangirl spazzing endlessly over her bias group? It’s like all my fangirl reactions come alive through your blog, so THANK YOU! And seeing as N is my bias and this video pretty much cemented his position as a sex god, I was really happy to see that u agree! Hoping to see the fangirl version of this post soon!
I’m kind of wondering if a written post could ever fully capture me in full fangirl mode. I think it’s one of those things you kind of have to see in person. haha Still, I think once there’s a dance practice or dance version of “Chained Up” released, that fangirl isn’t going to be able to stay calm either way. I have to say, you have an incredible bias and this video… Wow! I still have a hard time believing N is real and I’ve seen him in person twice. Heck, I’ve even touched his hand and I still can’t believe he’s real! I’ve been dying over this video on a daily basis since its release and I love it just as much as ever. I’m pretty sure my family is sick of hearing me squee (loudly) every time Leo gives one of his flippin’ death glares but whatever. They’ve known for years that I was crazy so maybe they’re used to it by now… hahaha
