When TROY debuted back in March, with their silky smooth, jazzy R&B single, “Green Light” I immediately fell in love with them and have been waiting, rather impatiently, for their next release. I nearly fell out of my chair when TROY announced they’d be making a comeback and now that they have, this fangirl is dancing around the house as I groove to TROY’s latest single, “Why Are We”.
Composed by Lee Hyun Do and Bumkey, “Why Are We” is a smooth mid-tempo R&B track, that is absolutely everything I was hoping for in TROY’s second release. Bumkey’s vocals are absolutely divine and they’re backed up so well by Changwoo, Jaewoong and Kanto. The rap in “Why Are We” blends in so flawlessly with the vocals you end up with this gloriously groovy track that sends you floating into fangirl heaven.
I really can’t get enough of the smooth sounds that seem to be defining TROY. They’re such a soulful treat, with just enough groove to make you want to move and the vocals… Oh boy! They’re like a salve for the wounded soul… So smooth… So soothing… So… Well, why don’t you give “Why Are We” a listen and fill in those blanks yourself? I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
So what do you think of “Why Are We”? Was I right? Did you love it or am I just another crazy fangirl spazzing over a band she loves? I’d love to know what you think so be sure to leave me a comment below!
You nailed it, I have never heard of Troy until today and loved it, now i will have to follow them now..
Fangirl spazzing over a band she loves is always a good answer also lol
If this is your first encounter with TROY, you really need to take a minute or four to check out their debut song “Green Light”. It’s absolutely amazing! (Not that “Why Are WE” isn’t, it’s just a song worth taking the time to listen to.) 🙂
