This week’s “Tune” is one I immediately fell in love with. It’s fun, it’s catchy, and it’s full of all the adorably squishy lyrics that make my silly fangirl heart melt. With so much going for it I couldn’t help but take a little time out to squee over it because, well… When do I ever pass up an opportunity to squee?
After teasing Carats with a million adorable teaser photos, SEVENTEEN has finally made their comeback with their very first full-length album, Love & Letter. The 10 track album is much welcome as, I’m sure we can all agree, their first two EPs were great but a full-length album has been on all of our minds for a very long time.
The title track, “예쁘다” or “Pretty U”, is everything I could ever want from the adorable munchkins of SEVENTEEN. As I’ve already said, it’s fun, catchy, and the lyrics… Oh! THE LYRICS! They’re just so sweet I end up melting into a squishy fangirl goo puddle every time I hear them which makes me question my very existence because WHY OH WHY DO I ALWAYS MELT WHEN I LISTEN TO SONGS LIKE THIS!?! I was the exact same way when GOT7’s “Just Right” first came out. I couldn’t listen to that song without melting… Okay, okay, I still can’t. But now I have another zombie melting song I can’t stop listening to and… Ugh! I guess I’m doomed to squish my way through life an a gelatinous zombie fangirl goo puddle. I suppose there are worse ways to spend my life…
When you’ve got a song this adorable, of course you expect the MV to be just as squishy and SEVENTEEN doesn’t disappoint. Watching the boys run around Seoul, being stupid and adorable, makes my squishified heart so ridiculously happy. I’ll never understand why watching cute boys be dumb is so much fun but it is and I could happily waste hours and hours of my life doing nothing else. (But I’ll stop there before I reveal too much of my patheticness to the world.)
If you’re looking for a cute song with sweet lyrics to melt your heart and brighten up your day, you can’t go wrong with SEVENTEEN’s “Pretty U.” Even if you don’t have a clue what they’re saying, just watching the video will instantly make your day better. (Unless you’re really bothered by messes… Then you might want to avert your eyes.) As one who’s had a rather crappy week, I couldn’t be happier that SEVENTEEN is around to distract me with so much cuteness. They’ve made my life easier to handle and I’m grateful to them for that. I’m also now looking even more forward to seeing them perform at KCON NY in June. (Because apparently I wasn’t already excited enough.) Of course my thoughts on SEVENTEEN’s comeback may not be the same as yours which is why I wanna know what you think. Are you enjoying the promotions for “Pretty U” as much as I am? What do you think of Love & Letter as a whole? Let me know in the comments below!
