When Monsta X released the “special clip” for “Hero” late last week, I nearly squeed myself out of my chair. (What!?! I can’t be the only one who’s squeed so hard I almost fell out of your chair, can I!?!) Needless to say, I had a pretty strong inkling I’d be making “Hero” my Tune of the Week and well… Here I am, attempting to write this post without making a complete and total spazz of myself. ㅎㅎㅎ We’ll see how this goes…
As every MONBEBE knows, “Hero” is one of the 6 songs that make up Monsta X’s second EP, Rush, and I have to say, it’s one of my favorite Monsta X songs thus far. There’s so much about the song I love, it’s kinda hard to list it all. The beat moves me, the chorus is catchy (and totally makes me swoon ’cause, yeah… I’d let any one of these guys by my hero if they really wanted to be), the vocals are smooth and both Jooheon and I.M’s rapping makes my heart do funny things. In short this song is perfection all on its own but Starship decided they needed to expand on that perfection by giving us this MV and well… All I can say is “Thank you Starship! Thank you! Thank You! THANK YOU!”
How could I be anything but ecstatic about this video? It’s as perfect as the song for which it was created! Slick and simple, the video focuses solely on the boys’ performance making it much more like a souped-up performance video than anything else. The thing is, I tend to love performance videos more than anything else (except maybe a good dance practice video… I’m such a sucker for those…) so I’m perfectly okay with the simplicity of this video. I mean who doesn’t love watching these guys perform? They have such an awesome stage presence and their charisma… Ugh! How could you not be affected by it? I mean did you even watch this video!?! Holy flip! I melt every time any one of them looks into the camera!
I have to admit, watching this video (or anything else with Monsta X in it) makes my heart ache. I know I sound hopeless but what can I say? Seeing them at KCON ruined me. I shall spend the rest of my days wishing I could see them again. Yup! I’m a gonner! Guess that means I’d better wrap this up before I start spazzing… Okay, before I start spazzing more.
Monsta X has only been (officially) around since May and already they’ve managed to completely ruin my bias list (Thanks for that boys, it’s not like I really needed seven more of you to squee over!) and make it to the top of my daily playlist. (Shocking, I know.) I’m hopelessly biased when it comes to Monsta X so I need you tell me what you think of them and “Hero” in the comments below; you know, just to see whether or not I’m actually crazy. (Though I think we already know the answer to that question…)
