This week’s tune is one that makes me smile, cry and swoon all at the same time. Of course, with a song that invokes so many feels, I had no choice but to make it my Tune of the Week.
After news of MBLAQ’s loss of two members broke at the end of last year, many A+s feared the worst but the three remaining members rallied and have finally made their comeback, releasing their eighth mini album Mirror. The eight track album marks the beginning of a new era for the group and one I hope brings many great things for G.O, Seung Ho and Mir.
The title track, “Mirror” is an emotional mid-tempo jam that highlights the strengths of the individual members and oh my goodness! Seung Ho’s voice makes me melt, G.O’s lamenting wails make me cry and Mir’s rap… Ugh! It kills me. The video for “Mirror” is stylish and sophisticated. It’s also so full of symbolism is makes me want to weep, 
especially near the end when the trio walks through open doors while the doors representing Joon and Thunder remain shut. *sobs* It’s like a knife in the heart! The only consolation for my broken heart throughout this video is the loveliness of Mir’s hair. I’m pretty sure I could write sonnets about that hair, I love it so much. *sigh*
I’m beyond thrilled that MBLAQ is back and I wish them nothing but the best both with this comeback and in the future. If “Mirror” is any indication of what this group is capable of sans two members, I have no doubt they’ll be just fine. But what about you? Are you as much in love with “Mirror” as I am?
