This week’s tune took me completely by surprise in the best way possible which is why I’m now sitting here, trying to figure out how to write this post without making a fangirl mess out of myself. (Which, let’s face it, we all know isn’t going to happen…)
So I woke up this morning to a KKT message from a friend of mine who, very excitedly, told me to go check out KNK. Being one who takes messages in all caps very seriously, I immediately ran to YouTube to check them out and HOLY FLIP! This is what I found… (You might want to sit down for this… Because… Yeah… Just trust me on this one.)
OH FOR THE LOVE OF K-POP!
WHERE DID THESE BOYS COME FROM AND WHY HAVE THEY HURT ME SO!?!
I WAS SO NOT PREPARED FOR THIS!!!
Once my heart started beating again and I was able to pick myself up off the floor and drag myself back into my chair, I had to go do a little research on KNK and I was surprised by what I found. Apparently all 5 members of the group were former trainees at other companies. Youjin was a former trainee of TS and at one point trained with B.A.P. Seungjun and Inseong were BigHit trainees. Seungjun almost became a member of BTS and then moved to JYP and trained with GOT7. Inseong moved over to FNC where Heejung was also a trainee while Jihun was once a Nega Network trainee. They all eventually moved over to YNB and have finally, after an average of 5 years of training, debuted as KNK.
Where things go for KNK from here, no one can say but I do hope they become successful. With a debut song as incredible as “Knock” it shouldn’t be too hard for them to draw in fans. I mean seriously! These boys have some fantastic voices and well, this video is more than adequate. #WelcomeToSwoonville
After so many years of training these boys deserve to find some sort of happiness and I hope it comes in the form of undying love from their fans. I know I’m definitely cheering for them and will continue to do so for as long as my zombie fangirl heart beats. So… KNK, FIGHTING!
