I know I’ve been squeeing a lot over Yong Hwa lately but I just can’t help myself. Every time he releases a new video, I lose my head and every other song in the world suddenly disappears. Because I can’t focus on anything else, I have no choice but to make “Checkmate” this week’s featured tune.
I don’t know how excited any of you have been about Yong Hwa’s solo album but I’ve been squeeing so hard over it, I can barely think straight. 
With so many collaborations on this album, it’s been difficult for me to decide which I love the most. I can’t really say I have a favorite yet but I can say I’m loving this collaboration with JJ Lin. “Checkmate” is such a fantastic song and the very embodiment of everything I’ve ever loved about Yong Hwa’s music. It’s more rock than pop, it’s emotional and powerful and wonderful and I absolutely love the way Yong Hwa and JJ Lin’s voices meld and I should probably stop gushing before I get completely carried away. (Though it may be a bit too late for that… Sorry!)
If you haven’t already added Yong Hwa’s album, One Fine Day to your K-Pop collection, you really should but I’m a very biased fangirl when it 
comes to Yong Hwa so take my advice as you will. Whether you add this album to your collection or not, I’d love to know what you think of “Checkmate”.
