TUNE OF THE WEEK: 2PM “My House”

group 1

As I’m sure pretty much everyone in the world knows, 2PM made their long-awaited comeback earlier this week and OH MY GIDDY FLIPPING AUNT! I’m so in love with their title track, “My House”, that there’s no way I could pass this up as my Tune of the Week.

Wooyoung 1If you haven’t already taken the time to watch the “My House” video you need to stop what you’re doing and go watch it. Now. As in RIGHT NOW. I’ll even make it super easy for you to do so…

See? I’m putting the video right here…  (Isn’t that nice of me???)

Now click that play button and I’ll be back in about three minutes…

*drool*

*sigh*

*hysterical laughter*

*drool*

*more drool*

*swoon*

*wild squeeing*

*dead*

Chansung 1Okay, I’m back, writing from the grave, because that’s how dedicated I am to this blog and to you, my lovely readers…

Now what did I tell you? Wasn’t that video worth the three minutes and twenty-two seconds it took to watch? I can hear you squealing now… “Yes! Yes it was!” Oh no wait… That was me squealing… Sorry! I’ll try to be a bit more serious now… (Yeah, I know, I know… I can hear you all laughing from here.)

Junho 1If you’re at all a fan of K-Pop, 2PM, fairy tales, singing bunnies or just flipping awesome awesomeness, you’re going to love “My House”. It’s just one of those unwritten laws of the universe. Every once in a while, when the stars align just right and a butterfly sneezes just as the moon is rising over the mountains of Peru, an incredibly creative, sexy, gorgeous, humorous, to die for video is created and fans the world-over get to revel in its awesomeness. That, my friends, is what we have with 2PM’s “My House”.

JunK 1This video is everything a video should be. It tells an easy-to-follow and universally familiar and beloved story (in the form of a mash-up of popular fairy tales) that is brought to life in a world that’s a richly ornate as a fairy tale world should be, without going wildly overboard. But then the fairy tale concept of this video is taken a step further, by making the “princes” in this story, devilishly charming, almost to the point where you wonder if they’re really the good guys you first think they are or are they actually a bunch of wolves in sheep’s clothing? However there is one obvious exception and that’s Taecyeon, who takes on the role of the big bad wolf and oh boy! Taecyeon 1His ability to make a bad guy look good is Oscar-worthy, sonnet-worthy and most definitely swoon-worthy. ‘Cause… Whew! Of course when you’ve got a video featuring 2PM, you’ve got all kinds of sonnet-worthy inspiration and in this video it comes in the form of five handsome princes who look so good, you don’t even care that there’s a very good possibility they may eventually be the death of you. (Hey, call me crazy if you want but there’s definitely something hiding behind those subtle looks and charming smiles.)

Nickhun 1I guess I’m making this more of a Video of the Week post than a tune of the week post and I apologize for that but can you really blame me for getting swept away by this one? I’m the ultimate sucker for a fairy tale and having 2PM fill the role of the handsome prince/gorgeous villain is just… ACK! (Sorry, I was just having a moment there. I think I need to cut back on the coffee.)

Before I go, I will say the song “My House” is truly fantastic. singing bunnyIt’s catchy and the lyrics are the kind that just make you melt; which is fitting seeing as how they’re being sung by six of the hottest guys in K-Pop. (And yes, I’m biased but we already knew that.) Personally, I can’t wait for payday so I can add No. 5 to my collection but until then, I’ll keep myself happy by watching “My House” more times than any one person should. (I know, I have issues but you love me anyway. I think.)

So what did you think of “My House” as a song, as a video, as a means of killing one randomly spazzy zombie? You know I always love hearing from you so be sure to let me know what you’re thinking by leaving me a comment below. Oh, and don’t worry, I’ll try to remember to go a little easier of the caffeine before I decide to write next week’s post.
