TUESDAY’S TEASE: Zico, SF9, Time-Traveling Aliens and More!

One of the best parts about spring is the number of things we, as Hallyu lovers, get to enjoy. There’s so much going on in the world of both K-Pop and dramas at the moment, I hardly know where to start!

I guess it only makes sense to start with the teasing that has most recently captured my attention and that would be Zico. He’s completely caught me off guard with this solo comeback of his and I’m totally loving him for that. His teasing for his upcoming solo, “She’s a Baby,”  has been sudden and intense and though I’ve been finding it hard to breathe of late, I’m still very much excited to see what musical goodness Zico brings to us this time around. From what I can tell, this seems to be something more along the lines of “I’m You, You’re Me” but with that touch of spring freshness that seems to permeate pretty much anything released this time of year.

“She’s a Baby” is set to drop on April 13 and I can’t wait to add this track to my collection! *squee*

Next on my list of unexpected, yet always welcome comebacks, is the upcoming release of SF9’s 2nd EP, Breaking Sensation. I honestly wasn’t expecting these boys to be making a comeback so soon after the release of Burning Sensation but here they are and I’m oh so happy to see them! If this mini-album turns out to be anything nearly as wonderful as their first, I’m going to be one happy, happy zombie!

While there’s not much in this teaser trailer to go on, I’m not worried. I have a feeling I’m going to enjoy this new EP quite a bit and I’m excited for it and the MV for the album’s title track, “Easy Love,” to drop on April 18.

Wa$$up has also joined in on all this spring comeback fun with the upcoming release of their 3rd mini-album, Color TV. Making this comeback as a 4-member group, I’m excited to see how these girls have rallied. I’m sure these past few months haven’t been easy for them but the fact that they’re soldiering on says a lot and I’m definitely cheering them on. Color TV is set to drop on April 13.

Cube Entertainment’s newly announced trio, Triple H, has started teasing for their upcoming “debut.” The group consists of HyunA and PENTAGON members, Hui and E’Dawn and I don’t really know much more about them than that but their first photo together is adorable and I have a feeling this debut of theirs is going to be a lot of fun.

On the drama side of things, there are a few new dramas I’m looking forward to checking out, the first being OCN’s upcoming romance, aptly titled: My Secret Romance (애타는 로맨스). The drama stars Sung Hoon and Song Ji Eun and though the plot sounds pretty typical for a romantic drama (rich boy, innocent girl, unlikely love, etc.), I’m still looking forward to it. Sometimes I just need a little romantic cheese in my life and I think this one will fill that role nicely. The first episodes airs next Monday (April 17) and yes, I’ve got a bottle of wine on standby, just in case I need a little something to go with all the cheese.

Also on my “upcoming drama’s to check out” list is tvN’s time-travel/alien drama, Circle (써클 : 이어진 두 세계). Yup, you read that right. Time-travel and aliens. That alone is enough to make me give this drama a chance. The fact that this alien believes humanity will fall if we mere humans can’t learn to control our emotions just makes this drama sound that much better. Sure, there’s a part of me that kinda worries this drama may turn into a horrible mash-up of My Love From Another Star and Tomorrow With You, but I’m willing to take that chance. Who knows, maybe a blue phone booth will show up somewhere and things will get really crazy! However things go, I’m willing to give Circle a chance, especially since it means I’ll have an excuse to squeal over Highlight’s Gi Kwang on a regular basis. ㅋㅋㅋ Circle is scheduled to begin airing on May 22 which means we have plenty of time to prepare ourselves for whatever it is this drama has in store.

Another May drama I’m looking forward to checking out is KBS2’s Fight My Way (쌈 마이웨이). The drama stars Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won as a couple of  “normal” people who have settled in life rather than pursue their dreams. It sounds a bit too realistic in some ways but I love a good story about people able to re-ignite their internal fire and work hard to make their dreams come true and I love the cast of this drama so of course I’m going to be watching.  I have a feeling this drama is going to pull on serious heartstrings and I’m perfectly okay with that. Fight My Way is scheduled to begin airing May 8.

With so much to look forward to, it’s hard to say what has me most excited. Then again, I’d rather know what it is you’re most excited about so be sure to let me know in the comments below!
