I know it’s only Tuesday but already I’m dying over this week’s comebacks. WINNER’s new songs have absolutely slain me so it’s a bit difficult to focus on, well… pretty much anything. I’m kinda hung up on Seung Yoon’s hair perfection at the moment (among other things) but, I think I can still manage to pull my thoughts together enough to squeal over the comebacks that have yet to become my new obsession. (Hey, I’m just being honest here!)
Actually, it’s not that hard for me to take a minute to squeal over DAY6’s April comeback. Though is it really a comeback if they’re releasing new songs every month??? I suppose as long as it keeps them in the forefront of my thoughts, my playlists and my heart, it doesn’t really matter what they call this year of monthly magic. What does matter is that their April edition is mere days away and I’m so freaking excited I almost don’t know how to handle all these feels! I’ve loved every single one of their monthly releases and I’m not expecting this to change any time soon. I don’t know how these boys do it, but every song they release becomes my new favorite and honestly, even the non-promoted tracks on these mini-releases have been AMAZING! I can’t wait to see what April brings! Augh! Is it the 6th yet!?! *desperately attempts to make time to move faster*
Another comeback I’m really looking forward to is IMFACT’s. I know I talked about this last week but really, I’m very excited! I love seeing what newer groups bring with each comeback and this one looks like so much fun! I swear, I can’t watch their teasers without having flashbacks to my childhood. I suddenly want to don my neon leg warmers and roller skates and hit the rink as I rock out to Bon Jovi on my Walkman. (Dude. Don’t mock the coolness of my youth! It was amazing!) Beyond the childhood warm fuzzies induced by all the “Tension Up” teasing, I’m actually looking very much forward to the music this new album will bring. I have a feeling it’s going to be a lot of fun and I’m so ready for these brighter, happier, spring comebacks. Winter is over so now it’s time to PARTY! Watch out roller rink, here I come! (If I’m in a cast next week, at least you’ll know why…)
On the drama side of things, Chicago Typewriter starts airing this week. tvN’s new drama will take the place of Tomorrow With You (which, hooray that one’s over!) and I’m definitely going to have to give this one a try. Sure, part of my reasoning is because it has “Chicago” in the title (yes, I am lame), but my interest also stems from the fact that this drama is about reincarnated writers (hello soul-mates!) and also because it stars Yoo Ah In and Go Kyung Pyo. (Hey, don’t judge the reasoning of the fangirl. She’s crazy but she also has a lot of fun!) I’m seriously hoping this drama fares better than Tomorrow With You because OH MY GOSH! I just… No. I’m not even going to go there.
JTBC’s upcoming drama, Man to Man is still capturing my attention, which is great, considering it starts airing in a couple of weeks. It’s slated to take the place of Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and I’m really hoping it can fill the void that’s going to be left once Bong Soon and Min Hyuk are gone. *sobs* (I’m not ready!) It’s hard not to put too many expectations on a drama, especially when it’s one you’re actually looking forward to watching. I’m trying my best to remain neutral here and give the drama a chance to stand on its own merit but it’s really hard! Hopefully I don’t ruin this drama for myself by placing too much hope in it but I suppose this is one of those instances where only time will tell whether I’ve killed this drama with my own hyped-up expectations or not. Hey, it wouldn’t be the first time… *sigh*
I know there are more dramas and comebacks I could be talking about but I’ve got a mountain of laundry to overcome and an order of plushies that needs to be filled so I’m out. Of course I’d love to hear what you’re most looking forward to in the coming weeks, be it K-Pop comebacks or dramas, so be sure to let me know in the comments below!
