TUESDAY’S TEASE: BIGBANG, Jonghyun and A Whole Lot of Hopeless Fangirling

inspiration

With the end of the year fast approaching, the number of K-Pop and K-Drama releases is definitely dwindling, which makes it a bit difficult to write about all the things we have to look forward to in the coming weeks because well… There’s just not that much to write about. Or is there?

fxxk-it

While it’s true idol groups have started to shift their focus more on releasing special holiday singles than actual albums, there are a few who are still teasing us with new music releases; BIGBANG being the most prominent. With the release of their long-awaited full-length MADE album less than a week away, these boys are in full teaser mode and honestly, I’m so excited by the fact that we’re finally getting this album that I’m afraid I may fall into hopeless fangirl mode without even realizing it. (Okay, hopeless-er. Uhhhh… More hopeless??? Yeah, that’s it!) Once that happens, I’ll have LINE stickers and posters and socks and hats and hoodies and who knows what else, all dedicated to my love of BIGBANG. Not that that’s a bad thing. I just kinda have more important things I should be spending my money on. Like concert tickets and impromptu trips to Seoul… (Don’t I wish!)

Also poised to bring out the hopeless fangirl in me is VIXX. Or more accurately, Ravi. About two seconds ago (and yes, I mean that literally), VIXX tweeted a 16 second teaser for Ravi’s “Realize Project” or #REAL1ZE_PROJECT, if you prefer. I have no idea what this is but you know that doesn’t matter. If it has anything to do with VIXX, be it a group project or a member’s solo work, I’m there.

Last on my list of idols who are determined to kill me is SHINee’s Jonghyun. After spending the entirety of my day yesterday, dying over all of the photos and fancams from Jonghyun’s recent solo concert, I’m in no shape to be dealing with any sort of solo project of his. However, he doesn’t seem to care a bit about that. Oh no! Instead of giving any of us a chance to recoup from his most recent onslaught, he has decided to go ahead and pound a nail into the proverbial coffin and it comes in the form of a stupid teaser for his upcoming SM STATION track, “Inspiration.” I think really it ought to be called, “Goodbye, I’m Dead” because that’s what I am. Dead. Dead. Dead.

In the world of dramas, only Hwarang ranks on my list of “must watch” for the year. There’s just too much cute in this drama to pass it up so, of course, I’m counting down the days until it starts airing. (Does this countdown fall into the hopeless fangirl category???)

Despite the fact the year is coming to an end, there really are quite a few things we have to look forward to before we say goodbye to 2016. The question is, what is it that you’re most looking forward to? Do any of these solo projects have you excited or are you more excited about all of the upcoming gayo daejun performances? Let me know in the comments below!
