I’m gonna be honest here, I had the hardest time trying to figure out which song should be this week’s featured tune and after much deliberation (with no real conclusion) it came down to me asking my tweenager to decide between Eric Nam and BTS (very scientific, I know) and “Ooh Ooh” was the winner. So here you go, this week’s featured tune… Eric Nam’s “Ooh Ooh”
TUNE OF THE WEEK: Park Hyo Shin “Wild Flower”
Okay, so I fell a little behind this week, but we’re going to retroactively enjoy my Tune of the Week for last week: Park Hyo Shin’s “Wild Flower.”
Sure, I could post a bunch of screen caps, but rather than overwhelm the simplicity of the video and his beautiful voice I’m just going to tell you to trust me. Go watch it!
TUNE OF THE WEEK: Boyfriend “My Avatar” & Super Junior M “Swing”
I’ve taken over ZombieMamma this week and that includes the Tune of the Week. However since it’s not my site, and I like to be a rebel, I’m breaking the rules…. I am bringing you two tunes because I really could not pick just one. Also, while both groups are essentially Korean, these singles are not. Boyfriend is extremely active in Japan and “My Avatar” is their newest Japanese single. Super Junior is a large group based in Korea, but that little ‘M’ attached to the end means it is their Mandarin subgroup, and thus “Swing” was released in China. I’m just going to come right out and say this, I have never been a fan of girl groups or female solo artists… Ever. So when I sit down to tell the world that the song they need to have playing on “repeat” right now is 2NE1’s “Come Back Home,” you know it’s got to be good.
TUNE OF THE WEEK: CNBLUE “Can’t Stop”
If you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time, you’ll know that I’ve had a thing for CNBLUE for a very long time. Jung Yong Hwa was the bunny I happily followed down the rabbit hole that led me into the wonderful world of all things Hallyu, CNBLUE’s albums were the first K-Pop albums I ever bought and the boys of CNBLUE will forever be at the top of my bias list. That being said, it only makes sense that their latest release, “Can’t Stop” would win this week’s music spotlight.
TUNE OF THE WEEK: BTOB “Beep Beep”
February has proved to be a difficult month when it comes to deciding which song to feature in my weekly K-pop spotlight, not because there’s been a shortage of new music but because there’s been so much, I’ve had a tough time trying to narrow my favorite down to just one. This week, the tune that won out, over all the other contenders, is BTOB’s latest release “Beep Beep.”

With Topp Dogg, C-Clown and BTS all making comebacks this week, trying to decide which song to feature as my “Tune of the Week” was difficult but in the end, I found myself coming back to BTS’s “Boy in Luv” over and over again.

With the release of B.A.P’s first official album, First Sensibility, it should come as no surprise that “1004” wins this week’s Tune of the Week spotlight.
