This week my very good friend, Sara (aka Young Ajummah), was kind enough to join me in my drama ramblings. Together we talked our way through our favorite actors dramas and drama tropes as well as the dramas and tropes we just can’t stand. We also took a quick detour to talk about Gong Yoo and his most recent and wildly popular film, Train to Busan, during which I revealed one of my darkest and most ironic secrets. *cue dramatic music* Continue reading “Drama Ramblings with Zombie Mamma – Episode 4: A Chat With Young Ajummah”

Drama Ramblings with Zombie Mamma – Episode 3: It’s Complicated

drama-ramblings-episode-2

Believe it or not, I’m back with yet another episode of Drama Ramblings. (Woohoo!) This week it seems like all of DramaLand has decided to focus on complicated relationships and frustrating me to no end, which gives me a whole lot of goodness to ramble on about. (Which in all honesty, kinda surprises me because in all honesty I’m a writer, not a talker so this whole talking to myself for an hour or so, while I record these podcasts, really makes me laugh.) As funny as I’m finding this whole podcasting adventure, I’m also rather enjoying it so let’s cut the chit-chat here and get to the good stuff already! DRAMA OF THE MONTH: Cinderella and Four Knights

cinderella

It’s been a little over a week since tvN’s latest take on the classic Cinderella tale, Cinderella and Four Knights, finished airing and I think I’ve finally reigned my emotions in enough to be able to talk about it without making a total mess of myself. Well, I’m hoping I can anyway… Though I suppose the only way to find out is to sit down and write… So… Here goes! Continue reading “DRAMA OF THE MONTH: Cinderella and Four Knights”

Rage Against the K-Drama Machine –  The Scarlet Heart: Ryeo Edition

scarletheart_2016-09-21-19h20m41s165

So my good friend Raine (from Raine’s Dichotomy) and I spent a good portion of our day today talking about the latest episodes of Scarlet Heart: Ryeo and well, we just couldn’t get all of our feelings out in one conversation. That being the case, we decided to get together and throw ourselves a little rage party. Of course no drama rant would be complete without you, our awesome readers, so we decided to share a bit of our conversation, in the hopes that you might join us as we discuss this most amazing, infuriating, yet completely addictive drama. ZOMBIE’S DRAMA RAMBLINGS: The Struggles of Impossible Love, Pt. 3 – Cinderella and Four Knights

best-scene-yet

The last in this string of impossible love ramblings is all about Eun Ha Won and the unique situation she finds herself in, living at Sky House with the three Kang cousins. (Oh to be so lucky!) ZOMBIE’S DRAMA RAMBLINGS: The Struggles of Impossible Love, Pt. 2 – Scarlet Heart: Ryeo

running-away

Out of all of the complicated loves in this currently airing set of dramas, the struggles of Hae Soo in Scarlet Heart: Ryeo seem to be the most impossible to sort out. With 18,000 princes, a king, a jealous princess and no relatives around to protect her, it’s easy to understand why Hae Soo’s life is more than a little complicated but when you throw in a tangled mess of love interests and a plot to steal the crown, you’ve got a story no drama-lover can resist.

ZOMBIE’S DRAMA RAMBLINGS: The Struggles of Impossible Love, Pt. 1 – Moonlight Drawn By Clouds

off-we-go

I’m very painfully aware that it’s been ages since I last sat down to write anything even remotely related to dramas and I have no excuse for that other than, I suck. (Well, okay, maybe having 4 small zombies sucking away my heart, soul and free-time all summer might have a little something to do with it but “I suck” sums things up nicely and is a whole heck of a lot easier to write.) FRIDAY NIGHT DRAMA: Noble, My Love

title

I must be on a mini-drama kick because I can’t seem to stop watching them. Maybe it’s because they’re so much easier to finish than a full-fledged drama or maybe they’re just too much fun, I’m not really sure. Whatever the reason, I’ve got a super cute little drama you can marathon this weekend and still have time to go out with your friends… Or stay home and watch another drama, because let’s me honest, that’s usually a whole lot more fun. (Aaaand I just admitted my lameness to the world… Way to go, me! *smh*) Continue reading “FRIDAY NIGHT DRAMA: Noble, My Love”

ZOMBIE’S DRAMA REVIEW: Producer Episodes 11-12

holding hands

I can’t believe we’ve come to the end of this rather quirky and adorable drama but we have. It’s been an interesting run, full of unique, interesting and ultimately, lovable characters and I’ve enjoyed the time I’ve spent watching this one, particularly in the moments when Seung Chan made me squee over his cuteness. But there’s more to talk about than one oddly adorable rookie producer so let’s get to it! Continue reading “ZOMBIE’S DRAMA REVIEW: Producer Episodes 11-12”

ZOMBIE’S DRAMA REVIEW: Producer Episodes 9-10

cute smile

With only two episodes standing between us and the end of this drama, you know things this week and going to pick up and oh boy, do they ever! Confessions are flying left and right yet we’re still no closer to figuring out how this complicated love square is going to work out. While we may not have an idea how these couples are going to pair off, we do still have a lot to talk about so let’s get to it! Continue reading “ZOMBIE’S DRAMA REVIEW: Producer Episodes 9-10”
