Once again, my inability to schedule a flight that didn’t leave at an ungodly hour made my last day in New York span 2 but that’s okay. Having run myself into complete exhaustion on Friday, I had no problem sleeping until 8 Saturday morning which meant I was more than ready to take on the 30+ hours of awesome that lay before me. All I had to do was jump out of bed and get crackin’. Which is exactly what I did. Continue reading “KCON 2017: Zombie’s Adventures in NY – Days 3-4”
KCON 2017: Zombie’s Adventures in NY – Day 2
Waking up super early Friday morning, to get ready for a day’s worth of KCON adventures, wasn’t a problem for me. Between the sirens blaring outside my window all night and the fact that I was just super freaking excited about all the KCON goodness waiting for me, I was up and ready to go in no time. Little did I know just how amazing this day’s adventure would actually be… Continue reading “KCON 2017: Zombie’s Adventures in NY – Day 2”
KCON 2017: Zombie’s Adventures in NY – Day 1
While I spent a lot of time debating as to whether I wanted to chronicle all of my KCON-related adventures this year, I decided that doing so has become a sort of tradition, so skipping out on it this year just seemed kinda sad. (Especially once people starting telling me how much they were looking forward to reading all about my time in NY. ) I had no idea people actually enjoyed reading about my daily adventures but who am I to deny those willing to read anything I write? For those of you who weren’t able to attend this year’s convention but would really like to know what such an adventure is like, I invite you to join me as I share my adventures with the world. For those of you who asked for this specifically, here it is! Enjoy! Continue reading “KCON 2017: Zombie’s Adventures in NY – Day 1”
Breaking Records: A Quick KCON 2017 NY Recap
KCON USA, the world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival, has recently announced that KCON 2017 NY, presented by Toyota, wrapped with an incredible number of records broken. Not only did the 3 year-old convention break records in number of attendees but in the number of performers, sponsors and partners as well. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the number of concurrent live streams on its KCON.TV platform also smashed records, making this year’s NY leg of the convention a huge success. The entire convention, filled with workshops, panels, performances, and more, matched perfectly with this year’s banner theme – “Let’s KCON” – and I was there to experience it all! Getting to Know You: KCON 2017 Special Guest Young Ajummah
As the countdown to KCON 2017 NY continues to dwindle, the excitement around this Zombie’s house is increasing exponentially. With so much to look forward to this coming weekend, it’s really hard for me to keep all this excitement contained! (I have a feeling the random squeeing as I go about my daily life might be starting to annoy my kids…) To direct all this energy in a more positive direction I’m going to introduce another amazing KCON 2017 Special Guest to you. Because, you know, that’s way more productive than dancing around the house singing “Cherry Bomb” at the top of my lungs… (*sings* “I’m the biggest hit, I’m the biggest hit on the stage…”) Continue reading “Getting to Know You: KCON 2017 Special Guest Young Ajummah”
Getting to Know You: KCON 2017 Special Guest Joan Vos MacDonald
As I’m sure you all know, KCON 2017 NY (presented by Toyota) is only a few days away and I’m so flipping excited, I’m finding it a little difficult to calm myself down enough to focus on the tasks at hand. (Which is bad because there are A LOT of things I still need to get done before I head East.) Still, with KCON so close at hand, it thought it might be fun to take a little time to shine the spotlight on some of this year’s special guests. There are so many amazing people who come together to make KCON as awesome as it is which is why I thought it only fitting to introduce a few of them to you. After all, these are the people who work tirelessly, all year long, bringing you all sorts of Hallyu-related content. It seems only right to take a moment to get to know a little about them and maybe glean some KCON-related wisdom from them as well.
