I know I’m late to the party here but after a week of fighting off colds and celebrating birthdays and holiday prepping, I haven’t had a lot of time to sit down a write. (It’s a travesty, I know, but sometimes life happens, even for life-less zombies.) Still, I decided I couldn’t really pass up the chance to recount the memories I made while attending CL’s recent concert here in Chicago. I mean it’s not every day the Baddest Female makes an appearance in your city and when she does, it feels kinda wrong not to say anything about it. So here goes… A summary of my adventures of an unforgettable evening in Chicago with a handful of fantastic friends and CL.Continue reading “CL In Chicago: A Zombie’s Quick Recap”
It’s been a rough week for me as I’ve been simultaneously fighting off hell-bugs, celebrating birthdays and preparing for Thanksgiving but today is finally Friday and you know what that means… IT’S NAP DAY!!! Oh… No… Wait… Continue reading “K-POP ONE-STOP: November 12-18, 2016”
I’m convinced the best way to fight off a cold is by overdosing on all things Hallyu. There’s really nothing better for the ailing fangirl than a solid day of drama watching and an overdose of K-Pop cuteness. (Or so I’ve been telling myself the past couple of days as I’ve laid on the couch willing my head not to explode…) Continue reading “TUESDAY’S TEASE: SEVENTEEN, UP10TION and Fantasy Dramas Galore!”
I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am that it’s Friday. This week has been freakishly long and I’m so very, very happy that it’s finally coming to an end. Not that it’s been all bad, mind you. I mean I did get to go see CL last night, perform at the Chicago Theater and I get to go see Crush perform tonight at The Vic, but still… This has been one of those weeks where the only reason I’m still functioning is because IÂ do have back-to-back concerts and all I can say is, thank goodness for K-Pop! Continue reading “K-POP ONE-STOP: November 5 – 11, 2016”
As I sit down to write today, I have to admit that my heart is almost too heavy to do so. Having spent the entirety of this week watching people around me display the very worst of themselves. My heart has broken and my stomach has turned so often that I’ve almost given up all hope in humanity as a whole. But even in the midst of all this darkness, I’ve been able to find little rays of sunshine which have served to remind me that even when things are bad, and you feel like giving up, there is still goodness in the world, there are things that can still bring joy and that, in itself, is enough to give me hope. Continue reading “Sunshine On A Cloudy Day”
I’m fairly convinced the world of K-Pop is trying to kill me. There’s really no other way to explain this never-ending string of lethal fall comebacks and debuts. At least I can’t come up with any other explanation. I mean, I suppose you could credit all of this fabulous music to the annual cycle of K-Pop and whatnot but really, where’s the fun in that?
IÂ know I’ve squealed quite a bit over ASTRO’s impending comeback so I don’t want to dwell too much on them. But HAVE YOU SEEN THEIR FREAKING TEASER!?! If this doesn’t prove these little brats are out to destroy me. I don’t know what does! I mean how the heck am I supposed to deal with this level of cuteness!?!
OH GOSH! NO! STOP! PLEASE! AUUUGGGHHHHH!
CHA EUN WOO, YOU NEED TO STOP THIS NONSENSE RIGHT NOW!
Actually, they all need to just go away. Like, now. Or more accurately, I should just cut myself off from these boys, for the sake of my health and sanity, but I just can’t! I’m addicted to ASTRO’s cute like I’m addicted to the warm fuzzies I get as I sip on a perfectly brewed espresso. Ugh! Is it November 10th yet???
But enough of my spazzing over ASTRO. I said I wouldn’t dwell too long on those little munchkins so I won’t. Instead, I’ll move on and ask the universe in general, how the heck IMFACT thought they could slip in this little tidbit of goodness past me…
Yeah, I’m not okay with this. I do not need any more freaking bias wreckers lurking around, just waiting for their moment to pounce! Too bad these punks don’t seem to care about my bias list or what they might do to it.
Yeeaaaahhhh… They don’t care at all.
I guess if ASTRO doesn’t kill me, IMFACT will finish the job as the group’s second single album is to drop November 11.
If by some miracle I survive this massive onslaught, I’m pretty sure KNK will do me in as they’ve just recently announced the release of their second mini album, Remain, which is scheduled to drop November 17. I honestly have no idea what KNK has in store for us with this album but I have a feeling it’s going to be pretty darn lethal.
Yup, lethal.
Dang it, Youjin! Can you please just stop already!?! You know I’m completely defenseless against beautiful boys with perfect hair!!! Though actually, I think this particular lament applies to every single one of these guys. Ugh! Why do I have to have such a weakness for guys with great voices and equally awesome hair!?! *siiigggghhhhh*
I suppose, that despite all of these comebacks, there’s a slight chance I’ll actually survive this next week or so. But the odds certainly aren’t in my favor. At least, if my heart does end up stopping somewhere in the midst of all of this K-Pop goodness, I’ll die happy. (Hey, I’m all about finding that silver lining!)
Of course what I really want to know, is if there are any comebacks you’re planning on dying over in the very near future. Is there a group or two you’re really looking forward to making a comeback in the near future? Are any (or all) of these three groups among them? Let me know in the comments below!
This past week brought with it a whole slew of new K-Pop music videos, several of which I’d been looking forward to with anxious anticipation, which is probably why I’m so excited to share this week’s playlist with you! (Seriously, I’m bouncing in my chair as I write this, I’m that giddy!) Continue reading “K-POP ONE-STOP: October 29 – November 4, 2016”
The world of American Hallyu experts and professionals is a beautiful place, full of amazing and interesting people. People who have dedicated a large portion of their time and energy to delivering unique, original and entertaining content to the world. People whose names you probably recognize but may not know much about. With so many incredible people bringing Hallyu to the world, I thought it might be fun to take some time to sit down and chat with some of them, to give you a chance to get to know a little more about those who help fuel the Hallyu fire that blazes so brightly, here in the States. My very good friend, Lisa Espinosa, from HanCinema and Raine’s Dichotomy (to name a few), is the first of these individuals I’d like to introduce to you. She was gracious enough to take time out of her busy schedule to chat with me for a bit about her work, how she got started in the Hallyu journalism business and what some of her favorite moments have been thus far. It’s no secret that this fall has been nothing less than a lethal string of comebacks designed solely to bring both life and death to K-Pop fans the world over. One might think that with such an overwhelming number of comebacks dropping in October, things might slow down a bit now that it’s November. But nope! This string of fall comebacks seems to be almost never-ending as ASTRO and BTOB have recently jumped aboard the comeback train.
