Taeyang is back with his second full-length album “RISE” and HOLY BUCKETS, it’s amazing and when I say “it’s amazing” I don’t mean one or two songs… Oh no, I mean every. single. song. on. this. album. is. FLIPPIN’! FANTASTIC!
Seriously, there isn’t a single song on “RISE” that I don’t like and I’m not just saying that because I’m some crazed Taeyang fangirl. I’m saying it because it’s the honest truth. It’s a rare thing indeed, to come across an album that you can listen to multiple times in a row and not want to skip a single song and yet that’s exactly what Taeyang has given us with “RISE.” If you haven’t had the chance to listen to “RISE” as a whole you can get a taste of what’s in store on the album by checking out the MV for “Eyes, Nose, Lips” here and I highly recommend that you do! (Go ahead, I’ll wait…)
Isn’t it fantastic? I love how the simplicity of the MV highlights the power and emotion conveyed through Taeyang’s voice. I think it’s just amazing! It feels like forever since Taeyang released “RINGA LINGA” and in the time since, I’ve kind of forgotten just how amazing Taeyang’s voice is. I’m so happy to have a ballad like “Eyes, Nose, Lips” to remind me that there’s much more to Taeyang than his incredible dancing skills!
The most incredible part of the “Eyes, Nose, Lips” MV is that is it doesn’t really do justice to the awesomeness of “RISE” as a whole. The simple truth is, every other song on “RISE” is just as fantastic (or even more so) than “Eyes, Nose, Lips.” Seriously! I wish I could put into words how incredible this album is but I can only say “amazing,” “fantastic,” “awesome,” etc. so many times before they start to lose their effectiveness.
Truth be told, I had high hopes for “RISE” but there were completely blown away by the amazingness Taeyang has given us with this album. I feel as if he’s put his entire heart and soul into this album and it’s as if I can feel that sincerity as I listen. I don’t really know how else to describe what it’s like to listen to “RISE.” I feel as if this album is more than “work” for Taeyang, I really feel as if he’s given us, his fans, this album as a gift. It’s almost as if this album is his way of saying “thank you” to the fans that have stuck with him for so long and I’d really love nothing more than to be able to return the thanks with a hug Taeyang and a heartfelt “thank you.” Thank you, Taeyang, for all of yourself that you have put into this album, it has not gone unnoticed nor unappreciated!
