I know Psy’s new album has only been out for about 4 hours, so maybe it’s a little early to be declaring it my new obsession but OH MY GOODNESS! This album is SOOOO GOOOOOOD!
I’m pretty sure it was a couple of weeks ago, in one of my “Tease” posts, that I talked about Psy’s upcoming album. At the time I didn’t think much of it. I was expecting another overly silly MV and an album I would listen to a time or two and that would be it. Needless to say, I wasn’t expecting an album so freaking amazing I’d be hooked after listening to a single song!
While I laughed my way through both of Psy’s new MVs, it’s the rest of the tracks on this new album that have me hooked. Collaborating with the likes of G-Dragon, Tablo, B.I & Bobby, Taeyang and Lee Sung Kyung, it seems Psy has chosen to showcase his many talents with this album and I, for one, am loving it! I think “Love,” (which is the track he recorded with Taeyang) may be my favorite track… Or maybe it’s, “Auto Reverse,” (his collaboration with Tablo)… It’s kinda hard to say… Though now that I think about it, why do I even have to pick a favorite? Honestly, there isn’t a track on this album I don’t like and what’s even more awesome is the fact that as great as these collaborations are, the tracks he performs solo are just as fantastic. Every track has its own unique sound, its own unique vibe and I love that!
It’s this variation that makes this entire album SO. MUCH. FUN. Seriously, that’s the best way I can describe this album. F-U-N – FUN! And that’s why I’m hooked! I love that I can put this album on and every single track makes me happy, in one way or another. No, not every track is the same and not everyone will enjoy them all but as one who loves a wide variety of music, I think Psy’s 4×2=8 is fantastic and that’s why, only 4 hours after its release, I’m already completely obsessed.
