KCON 2017 LA: “So Your Kid is a K-Pop Fan” Panel

As you all know, KCON 2017 LA has come and gone. As far as most people are concerned, it was a brief moment in time that flooded social media timelines with all sorts of insanity and then it was over. 끝! That’s it. Move on, it’s over. Well, for me, it’s not quite over. At least not yet. I mean I still have adventures to chronicle, articles to write, photos to edit and panels to share. Because let’s be honest, when you experience a weekend as epic as the one that was KCON 2017 LA, you kind of have to re-live it as many times as you can.

That’s why I was super excited when my totally awesome and amazing friend/co-panelist Sara (aka Young Ajummah) told me she’d not only recorded our “So Your Kid is a K-Pop Fan” Panel but had also gotten the video up on YouTube. Okay, so I wasn’t super excited about seeing just how much of a fool I can make of myself in front of a room full of people… But I was super excited that she’d not only remembered to record the panel (something I always forget to do) but had also gotten it up so that I could share it with all of you! Again, not that I’m excited to share actual, physical evidence of my stupidity with the world… But I know a lot of people couldn’t make it to KCON and I know there were some who were hoping there was a way they could get in on the panels I was a part of so… Thanks to Sara, now everyone can join in on the fun! Woohoo!

Yeah… So… I honestly don’t think I can watch this video myself. I mean I was there so I know what happened… (What!?! I really don’t like watching myself, okay!?!) I can tell you, in all sincerity, that I had a lot of fun, being a part of this panel for the second year in a row. (Woot! Woot!) Sara always does a fantastic job leading it and my fellow panelists, Tasha, Mama B, and, of course, Young Ajummah, are all amazing ladies and I love them all to bits! Once again I have to say thank you to Sara for sharing this video with us and I have to give a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for this particular panel. I know there’s a lot going on at any given time during KCON so the fact that you all took time out of your busy, busy schedule to spend some time with us means a lot not just to me, but to us all. So again, THANK YOU!

Of course if you have any questions on anything we discussed during our panel, on the challenges of raising a kid that’s into K-Pop, or if you’re a kid and you’re wondering how you can get your parents to better understand you and your love of all things Hallyu, feel free to leave me comments below or hit me up on any of my SNS. I’m always happy to help in any way I can!
