K-POP ATE HER BRAIN: Henry “Fantastic”

opening

You know, there is such a constant stream of new music in the world of K-Pop that it’s very nearly impossible for me to keep up with it all. That being the case, I’ve decided to start reviewing/talking about/spazzing over the music videos that move me, as I come across them, be they old or new or somewhere in-between. So, without further ado, I present you with my brand new spazzy review segment, “K-Pop Ate Her Brain” and Henry’s “Fantastic”.

Alright, I know this video was released a couple of weeks ago and here I am, just finding it now (don’t ask me how that happened, it just did… I blame life… It happens…) but that doesn’t make this song any less amazing. In fact, this song is just as fantastic now as it was when it was released which means I can spazz about it all I want because, let’s face it, it’s never to late to sing the praises of something truly awesome and Henry’s “Fantastic” is awesome!

talent

I’ve always been a huge fan of blending classical instruments with rock so I think the way Henry has blended K-Pop with his violin is an absolute stroke of genius. The music itself is powerful enough to send chills down my spine every single time I listen to this song but then you add Henry’s vocals into the mix and I’m just gone. I really can’t listen to this song without falling into some sort of K-Popalicious trance… I’m absolutely mesmerized.

What makes “Fantastic” even more fantastic is the concept of the video. With it’s Matrix-esque feel, “Fantastic” has put this nerdy zombie in sci-fi heaven and I’m loving every single second of it! I’m also loving the stripe-tastic socks Henry and his dancers wear for most of the video as I’m pretty sure they’re the most incredible socks on the face of the planet. (Okay, so maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration but you have to admit, they are pretty dang awesome! I wonder where I could find a pair…)

socks

Whether you like the socks and the sci-fi feel of the video or not, “Fantastic” is certainly a song worthy of your K-Pop playlist (it’s already found a home on mine) so be sure to give it a listen (if you haven’t already) and then let me know what you think. I love talking K-Pop just as much as I love talking dramas so be sure to leave me a comment below!

  1. I love it too! I’ve been listening to Henry’s whole album and think it’s pretty great! Have you seen his “Trapped” MV?

    1. Yes and it’s fantastic! Any time Henry sits down at a piano I nearly fall out of my chair! What is it about a guy playing a piano that makes him so darn irresistible? Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Taemin and Kyuhyun are in that video either! It’s really great but I think “Fantastic” is just as good, or dare I say better, as it gives Henry a chance to shine, all on his own.
