HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Tomorrow’s Cantabile Episodes 3-4

TCEp4

Hey everyone! Hallyu Tanya and I are back with our review of episodes three and four of Tomorrow’s Cantabile and since we’re both loving this drama, we’ve got a lot to say so let’s get to it!

So tell us, what did  you think of this week’s happenings? Is von Stresemann being a punk, giving and taking Yoo Jin’s positions on a whim? How about the fact that he totally walked away from everything and left the S Orchestra hanging? Seriously! What’s up with that? How awesome is it that Yoo Jin has stepped up as the new leader of the S Orchestra? Do you think he can make this orchestra something amazing or is he going to fall flat on his face? How do you feel about Nae Il? Do you like her or is she too over-the-top for you? As always, we want to know what you’re thinking so be sure to leave us a comment below!

  1. Nae Il is definitely over the top, but it cracks me up. This drama reminds me a bit of Skip Beat, which was also based on a manga. The lead there was crazy, but I loved her, too! (and SiWon was to die for…but I’ll save the fangirling for another post when you pick it for a Friday night drama!) The growth in each of these students who now consider it “Their” orchestra instead of the “S Orchestra” is very cool! I’m excited for their adventure. I think “The almighty Cha” is on to something and that he will succeed. I just can’t figure out if von Stresseman wants him to succeed and set all this up to motivate him or if he wants him to fail miserably. I am waffling on that.

My favorite scene is when Nae Il and the timpani player are fighting over Yoo Jin while preparing him food. I just died laughing. That was priceless! I am still loving this drama. I hope it continues to keep me on the edge of my seat hoping for good things to happen to our S orchestra (and Yoo Jin).

    1. Oh my gosh! I absolutely love Skip Beat! It’s my all-time favorite manga! You’re right, this drama does have some hints of Skip Beat-y-ness to it, probably because they’re both manga and they have that manga vibe to them. I love the craziness of Nae Il and I love how Yoo Jin has come to enjoy having her around, even if he’s not ready to admit that to himself. I’m really looking forward to watching the relationship between these two develop because it think it’s just so much fun! I’m also looking forward to seeing how all of the characters grow as this story progresses. They each have areas where they’re lacking and I think the more time they spend together, the more they’re going to grow as individuals and I just love that! There’s nothing better than having friends around who make you a better person and that’s what Yoo Jin, most of all, has here. Of course there will be growth in more than just Yoo Jin but he’s the one who is obviously lacking and will be the one we see the greatest change in. Hooray!

I can’t really figure von Stresemann out either. There are times when I think he’s doing all of this for Yoo Jin’s good and then there are times when I think he’s out to ruin Yoo Jin forever. I suppose this is one of those things we’ll figure out as the story progresses and until then, I’m probably going to stay on the fence about him. I hope he’s out to do good for everyone but I really don’t know which way his character will turn.
