HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Pretty Man Finale: A Tribute to Ma Te’s Hair

Zombie: So as most of you know, Tanya and I have had a thing for Ma Te’s hair from the very beginning of Pretty Man. We predicted from the get-go that Ma Te’s hair would change with each woman he set out to conquer and wouldn’t you know it, we were right! We both agreed that if Ma Te’s hair changed with each woman, we’d have to do a tribute to Ma Te’s hair in all of it’s varied gloried at the end of the show. Being women of our word we’d like to present to you, without further ado, our homage to Pretty Man Ma Te’s hair. Enjoy!

Tanya: It certainly was a lot of fun to watch. I kind of felt as though a few of the styles ran out of inspiration, but I like the evolution. You can kind of watch Ma Te grow up through the hairstyle he is wearing. Young and inexperienced; long rocker hair. More grown up and responsible; still a little messy, but still something you could get away with in a formal office setting. Each style also corresponds to the woman he’s dealing with. Bo Tong, having known him forever, has that unkempt style which totally fits Bo Tong’s style. His “adult” hair is a reflection of Na Hong Ran and Lee Kim, with everything in between. Hell, he even had rocker hair to reflect Myo Mi. Overall, fun and a great creative choice!

Zombie: So which out of these hairstyles did you like the most?

Tanya: Either the style he had with Jackie (throwback to Love Rain) or the Myo Mi hair. I have a thing for the shaved sides with the longer hair. Both styles reflect that because that is who Jang Geun Suk is…. forever the rock star.

Zombie: Which is why we love him so! I think my favorites are the Myo Mi and the Yeo Mim hairstyles. You can’t go wrong with rock star hair and I think the Yeo Mim hairstyle really reflects how much Ma Te’s grown as a person and while that’s a funny thing to say about hair, it’s just how things are in Drama Land… Even the hair has meaning!

So which of Ma Te’s hairstyles are your favorites? Be sure to tell us in the comments below and thanks for sticking with us through our review of Pretty Man!
