HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Emergency Couple Episodes 10-11 (3/4)

Karen and Zombie Mamma have covered a lot of this week’s episodes! Chang Min is starting to grow on me too as he becomes less pompous and runs with his jealousy/confusion thing. He has decided to go all in and just follow the course where ever it take him. I admire that. The more he shows that he still cares, the better the chances he will have with Jin Hee in the end.

I really want to focus on the scene in Episode 11 when Jin Ae and her husband, Gwang Soo, bring Chang Min into the house. It seemed very comfortable and very real as they retold stories of how they met each other. Although Gwang Soo did make a bad decision to ask Chang Min and Jin Hee how they got engaged and it made things momentarily awkward, Chang Min decided to talk about it.

In the end, it was a good decision. We watch Jin Hee’s reaction to it. She obviously enjoying hearing the story about the good parts of their past and even does the girl slap out of embarrassment. We also get to see her momentary confusion where she is trying to come to terms with why she’s enjoying this story and spending time with Chang Min in a family setting. I think she’s just as confused as Chang Min is about the situation and where they stand.

Even after the doorbell rings and there is panic that it may be Jin Hee’s mother, everything is back to normal within moments as Jin Hee realizes that her entire house is going to be taken over by Jin Ae and her brother-in-law…. And then mom actually comes home! Hilarious.

Once Chang Min actually manages to get out of the house without his ex-mother-in-law noticing (Jin Ae even starts laughing when she sees him go out), he still waits in his car to think. Jin Hee even comes out to check on him and make sure he’s okay. I was a little surprised by it actually, but it’s a fantastic thing for our main couple. She even wanted to know what he was thinking about. Curiosity is a good step in the right direction.

Then Chang Min “kidnaps” her… and he takes her to his apartment? Maybe not the best choice as she questions his motives, but I honestly think he was just trying to help. After playing the blame game about her collarbone, she tries to leave, but Chang Min stands firm to try and make her realize he cares. Back hugs ensue!

Things are definitely turning in this relationship, even with the the Dr. Gook complication. What do you think of their progress this week? Does Chang Min actually deserve another chance? Or should Jin Hee pursue Dr. Gook’s affections (that he’s willingly giving)? You can leave me a comment below or tweet @Hallyu_Tanya! Don’t forget to join us for our group discussion tomorrow!
