You know, there’s a lot of ugly in the world right now and sometimes it can get a little overwhelming. I wish I could say I had answers and solutions and all sorts of brilliance that could suddenly fix all of the world’s problems. But I don’t. Instead, I have an insatiable love of all things Hallyu which, granted, doesn’t necessarily make the world a better place but it makes my world a better place by providing me with all sorts of beautiful and wonderful distractions which help me forget just how messed up life really is. MY CURRENT OBSESSION: Jonghyun’s Solos
As my quest to spice things up a bit continues, I’ve decided to dedicate this new segment to whatever it is I’m currently obsession over. I know, it’s hard to believe a fangirl such as myself could ever obsess over anything… *snickers* Well… maybe it’s more like it’s hard to believe I’m only obsessing over one thing at the moment… (Which is actually more likely to be the case.) But whatever. The point is, I’m going to start writing about whatever it is that has most recently captured my heart and to kick things off, I talking about SHINee’s Jonghyun. Or maybe I should say, Jonghyun’s solo albums… But really, Jonghyun… and his albums. *rolls eyes at myself* I’m so hopeless! Continue reading “MY CURRENT OBSESSION: Jonghyun’s Solos”
TUESDAY’S TEASE: BTS, SHINee and More
Remember all those promises I made, about how change was coming and all that. Well, I’ve decided to start a new weekly post highlighting whatever Hallyu-related thing it is I’m most looking forward to at the moment. This could be anything from an upcoming drama (or maybe just an upcoming episode), or a bias group’s comeback, or maybe an upcoming movie that’s actually going to be shown here in Chicago, or maybe a concert… Really, it could be anything that stirs my fangirl soul, or inspires me to create a countdown clock on my phone. (Because yes, I am that level of fangirl crazy.) Continue reading “TUESDAY’S TEASE: BTS, SHINee and More”
Drama Ramblings with Zombie Mamma – Episode 1 aka The Best Intentions…
Yeah…. This title pretty much sums up my entire day but that’s okay. I promised that changes were coming and coming they are. I can’t say today’s adventures have gone quite the way I planned but hey, I’m trying new things and that’s all that matters. Continue reading “Drama Ramblings with Zombie Mamma – Episode 1 aka The Best Intentions…”
Rage Against the K-Drama Machine – The Scarlet Heart: Ryeo Edition
So my good friend Raine (from Raine’s Dichotomy) and I spent a good portion of our day today talking about the latest episodes of Scarlet Heart: Ryeo and well, we just couldn’t get all of our feelings out in one conversation. That being the case, we decided to get together and throw ourselves a little rage party. Of course no drama rant would be complete without you, our awesome readers, so we decided to share a bit of our conversation, in the hopes that you might join us as we discuss this most amazing, infuriating, yet completely addictive drama. Continue reading “Rage Against the K-Drama Machine – The Scarlet Heart: Ryeo Edition”
ZOMBIE’S DRAMA RAMBLINGS: The Struggles of Impossible Love, Pt. 3 – Cinderella and Four Knights
The last in this string of impossible love ramblings is all about Eun Ha Won and the unique situation she finds herself in, living at Sky House with the three Kang cousins. (Oh to be so lucky!) Continue reading “ZOMBIE’S DRAMA RAMBLINGS: The Struggles of Impossible Love, Pt. 3 – Cinderella and Four Knights”
ZOMBIE’S DRAMA RAMBLINGS: The Struggles of Impossible Love, Pt. 2 – Scarlet Heart: Ryeo
Out of all of the complicated loves in this currently airing set of dramas, the struggles of Hae Soo in Scarlet Heart: Ryeo seem to be the most impossible to sort out. With 18,000 princes, a king, a jealous princess and no relatives around to protect her, it’s easy to understand why Hae Soo’s life is more than a little complicated but when you throw in a tangled mess of love interests and a plot to steal the crown, you’ve got a story no drama-lover can resist.
ZOMBIE’S DRAMA RAMBLINGS: The Struggles of Impossible Love, Pt. 1 – Moonlight Drawn By Clouds
I’m very painfully aware that it’s been ages since I last sat down to write anything even remotely related to dramas and I have no excuse for that other than, I suck. (Well, okay, maybe having 4 small zombies sucking away my heart, soul and free-time all summer might have a little something to do with it but “I suck” sums things up nicely and is a whole heck of a lot easier to write.) KCON 2016: Zombie’s Adventures in LA – Day 6
Waking up after such an incredibly fun and exhausting weekend is harder than pulling a crocodile’s teeth which meant waking up early enough to make it to the airport on time, Monday morning, was, without a doubt, the hardest thing I had to do while in LA. Of course knowing that waking means you have to leave all of your friends and all of the fun of the past week behind, doesn’t make things any easier. But flights had to be caught and, as is the case every year, the fun of KCON eventually has to come to an end. Continue reading “KCON 2016: Zombie’s Adventures in LA – Day 6”
KCON 2016: Zombie’s Adventures in LA – Day 5, Part 2
Meeting up with Lola after Sunday night’s Red Carpet, we made our way over to the Staples Center, to join in the tens of thousands of other fans in line, waiting to get in. With so many people attending the final concert of KCON 2016, it took us a while to get in and find our seats. By the time we were all settled in, the opening acts had already started which meant we had almost no time to wait before the concert actually started.
